Facebook Account Verification

Getting verified on Facebook is a way of proving that you are a legitimate public figure, brand, or business. Here are the steps to take to get verified on Facebook:

Ensure that you meet Facebook's eligibility criteria: You must be a public figure, media company, brand, or business to get verified on Facebook. You should also have an active Facebook account and provide accurate information on your profile.

Go to your Facebook Page: If you are trying to get verified as a public figure or a media company, you must have a Facebook Page to do so.

Click on the "Settings" tab: This is located at the top of your Facebook Page.

Click on "General": This can be found on the left-hand side of the Settings page.

Click on "Page Verification": This is located at the top of the General settings page.

Click on "Verify this Page": This button is located next to your Page's name.

Choose your verification type: Facebook offers two types of verification: instant verification and manual verification. If you choose instant verification, Facebook will verify your Page based on information already provided by you. If you choose manual verification, Facebook will request additional documentation to verify your identity.

Follow the on-screen instructions: Depending on the type of verification you choose, you will be required to provide additional information or documentation to verify your identity. This can include a government-issued ID, a business license, or other relevant documents.

Wait for Facebook's response: Facebook will review your verification request and respond to you via email or a notification on your Facebook Page. If your request is approved, a blue badge will be added to your Page to indicate that it is verified.

It's important to note that getting verified on Facebook is not a guarantee, and Facebook may reject your request for verification.

What's are the Facebook's eligibility criteria

To be eligible for verification on Facebook, you must fall under one of the following categories:

Public Figure: This includes celebrities, politicians, journalists, athletes, musicians, or any other public figure.

Media Company: This includes any media company, news outlet, or journalist.

Brand or Business: This includes any business, brand, or organization.

In addition to falling under one of the above categories, you must also meet the following eligibility criteria:

Your Facebook account must be complete and up-to-date, including a profile picture and cover photo.

Your account must be active and have a record of posting content regularly.

Your account must have a significant following, either through a large number of followers, high engagement rates, or both.

Your account must be public, meaning that anyone can view your content without needing to request access.

Your account must comply with Facebook's terms of service and community standards.

It's important to note that meeting the above eligibility criteria does not guarantee that your account will be verified by Facebook. Verification is at Facebook's discretion, and they may choose not to verify your account even if you meet all of the criteria.
